Inspo for macOS 15 or later
Inspo is a Mac app for the images, screenshots and clips you collect: pull in your Pinterest boards, capture any corner of your screen, and find any of it again by describing what you half remember.
Get help
Email us and you will hear back from the person who builds the app. There is no ticket queue and no bot. If something is broken, say which version of macOS you are on and what you were doing; if you can, attach a screen recording.
You can also come and ask in the Discord, where other people using Inspo can answer too.
Quick answers
Where are my files?
Your library is a folder on your Mac. Everything stays there; there is no account and no cloud. If you delete Inspo tomorrow, every file you saved is still sitting in the Finder, readable by anything.
Capture is asking for Screen Recording permission
That is macOS's standard permission for anything that reads the screen, and Inspo needs it only for snapping and recording. Grant it in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen Recording. Inspo relaunches itself and carries on. macOS only honours the grant from the next launch, which is why the app restarts rather than asking twice.
Search feels plain right after an update
New saves are read on your Mac in the background, and search sharpens as that finishes. The search bar shows the countdown. Nothing is being uploaded while it works; the reading happens on your own chip.
The browser extension cannot reach the app
Open Inspo first, or turn on background mode in Settings, General, then reload the extension's side panel. The extension talks only to the app on your own computer, so if the app is not running there is nothing for it to talk to.
Transferring to another Mac
Both Macs need Inspo running on the same network. The receiving Mac shows a passcode and the sending Mac asks for it. The library travels directly between the two machines, encrypted, and never touches the internet.
Removing a permission you granted
Anything you allowed can be taken back in System Settings, Privacy & Security, under Screen Recording, Local Network or Speech Recognition. Inspo keeps working; the feature that needed it stops and says so.
The app in one minute
Inside the app, the Help menu opens Inspo Help: searchable articles with living diagrams for saving, Spaces, the Canvas, capture and search. It works offline, because it ships with the app.
Privacy
Inspo collects nothing at all. The full privacy policy says so in detail, including every network connection the app is capable of making and why.
